What can I find out?
In an ideal world, degree courses would be offered in subjects from which employers seek graduates; the more graduates that employers demanded in a subject, the more degree courses would run in that subject. Not so in the real world. Universities are businesses, and market courses to attract students. Courses that look good in the prospectus will not necessarily get you the kind of job that you want. Fortunately, for the cost of a postage stamp, you can avoid spending say £33,512 on studying such a course.
Outcome Enquiries enable you to obtain important information from universities
and higher education colleges, particularly:
- an unbiased record of the jobs held by graduates of the course you are considering, six months after they completed the course. Many prospectuses present only the most attractive graduate destinations.
- a figure for the percentage of students who completed the course.
- a description of how the course is improving graduates' employability.
